clock is ticking and the days until camp are counting down! The
Staff and
Directors at YMCA of Orange are very excited to start gearing up for Camp
Oakes this
year, and we hope you are too. We have created this page to distribute
information,
dates, and registration forms for the Camp Oakes 2010 experience.
The buses leave the YMCA on Saturday, July 31st, and we have the most
sought after time slot that Camp Oakes has to offer. We encourage
you to register early, mark your calendars, and gear up for a week full
of memories that will make the rest of your summer seem boring!
Dates to Remember:
May
1, 2010 - Summer Sign-Up Day
Registration will kick-off on May 1, 2010 at the Camp Oakes Summer Sign-up
Day, hosted at the YMCA of Orange Main Office (Grand Street Center). The
event begins at 8 a.m. and the address is 146
N. Grand Street, Orange, CA 92866. Directing Staff and several Counselor
& CIT's will be there to welcome everybody. The annual $45 registration/membership
fee and a non-refundable $100 deposit are required to reserve your child's
spot. Should your child decide not to attend camp,
your registration/membership fee will be refunded.

Please
do not fax or email application(s), as only original signatures can be
accepted. Physicals and doctor's forms are OK to fax. Final
paperwork must be received by July 23rd, 2010. We
will begin accepting -completed financial aid and camp applications at
the Sign-Up Day on May 1st. Paperwork can also be dropped off during business
hours (M-F, 9 AM to 5 PM) at the Grand Street Center location.
Financial Aid is available to eligible applicants on a limited, first-come,
first served
basis. Applications must be returned with proof of income (paycheck stub
or tax
return).

July
26, 2010 - Parent's Night
Monday,
July 26th we will host Parent's Night, allowing parents to come and hear
a
presentation from our Lead Director, meet the Staff , and ask questions
that you may
have about your child's upcoming week at camp. The event is hosted
at the YMCA
Youth Center on Palymra.
July
31, 2010 - LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!
The
buses will leave from the YMCA Youth Center on Saturday morning, and
campers should arrive packed and ready to go by 8:00 a.m. Every
camper should
bring a sack lunch for the afternoon, and parents will need to check-in
their child
before they board the bus. Please bring all medications (prescription
and
over-the-counter) in a clear zip-lock bag with the medications and your
child's name
clearly labeled on the bag. Please make sure to inform your child's
counselor who
will be picking them up the following Saturday.
